Community Service: Week 3

Another week has gone by and as always, I end it up with a community service. Tuwing pupunta ako dun I can't explain why there is an stimulation on my part to really attend the immersion. I still wanted to see my students not just for the grades or requirements but for the fact that they will learn something from us.

Congratulations pala sa aming lahat kasi we have a new place to stay with! Yahoo.Palakpakan. We transfered from the small alley of that barangay to their day care center. Soo creative. That's the energy!

Isa pa kasama namin si Miss Marjonet ngayon kaya kelangan naming magpakitang gilas para at least alam niyang nagagawa namin yung responsibilities we'd agreed upon before the immersion period. Syempre nakakapanibago nga lang kasi we practiced no direction lectures. E since may mga matang nakamasid sa amin, we have to adjust and make sure na hindi lang kami papogi sa area but share what we were asked to share.

For the third week of this agenda, I can probably say that they have already learned from us. Unti-unti na nilang nadedevelop yung mga bagay ng sinabi  namin sa kanila the last time we went there. Although most of the topics were just mathematical operations, still I can see the improvement from the last week's activities. Sa mga students ko naman, si Angelo at Rahmil, mabilis nilang natutunan ang pagconvert ng centimeters and decimeters to meters and vice-versa. They both got a perfect score of 10 sa quiz na binigay ko. And as their tutor, I am proud and flattered that at least because of me they have cleared their difficulties in that area of their math subject. So para mamotivate sila to do the same in the next coming weeks, may premyo sila sa akin! Whew! Chocolates.

They have also improved their self-confidence. As if you are talking to anybody else, pwede sa multo! Pero ngayon, they are proud to say anything. Dati rin kapag tinututok ko yung camera sa kanila, they were shy. Normal yun sa bata. Pero yung makita kong nadedevelope yung self-confidence nila is not just normal. That only means effective yung pakikitungo at motivation na binibigay namin sa kanila. Indeed, the bonding of the group and the peer students are starting to build up!

This is dedicated to them! But time will also come for us to say goodbye. Basta ang importante we enjoyed each other.
